In addition to strategic priorities, initiatives and actions, the Medical Education Strategic Plan (2023–2025) includes a foundational priority that is integral to its success, including our ability to continuously monitor, report on and improve our strategy and actions. This foundational priority of continuous engagement and improvement will also help promote cross-portfolio collaboration and build community in an ongoing and meaningful way.
With an aim of building respect, community and collaboration across the portfolio and creating a deeper understanding of each other’s work, needs, goals and opportunities, the Vice Dean, Medical Education will leverage existing opportunities to engage in collaborative conversations that enable learners, staff, scholars and faculty to:
- Review the Medical Education Strategic Plan (2023–2025) goals, priorities, initiatives and actions
- Examine progress being made and collectively address challenges
- Discuss potential for future actions, including identifying new or shifted opportunities for alignment, integration or harmonization
This engagement process will involve annual status reports focused on progress made on the strategic actions identified in this plan. These annual status reports will be shared broadly, in particular with the committees whose input and feedback informed development of this plan. These committees include but are not limited to the Hospital-University Education Committee (HUEC), Vice Chairs of Education Committee, Clinical Chairs Committee, Dean’s Executive Committee, Medical Education Executive Committee, and oversight committees of the units that comprise the medical education portfolio
In addition to fostering relationships across the portfolio and Faculty, including with our hospital partners, these status updates and engagement opportunities will ensure the strategic plan stays alive and continues to evolve to meet emerging needs.
