Learning and Teaching Environment

Thank you for teaching our medical learners. On this webpage we have collated a variety of resources that teachers and learners can consult to create effective safe and healthy teaching and learning environments.

All MD Program teachers are asked to become familiar with the following resources when preparing for their teaching roles (1) Psychological Safety and (2) Learner Mistreatment.

Psychological Safety

These are some essential resources that describe how to create, maintain and regain psychological safety in our learning and teaching environments.

Learner Mistreatment

These resources are for frontline learner-facing teachers (faculty, senior medical students, residents, and fellows teaching or supervising a medical learner in various environments) when they witness mistreatment or are approached by a learner with a disclosure about mistreatment.

The faculty development session, recording, and tutor manual were very helpful.  I felt well prepared going into it without prior experience, and I felt well supported at the session, with the just-in-time opportunity for coaching.
